Quick notes from your Mac’s notch

Give each thought a place

1. Open the tools panel and choose Notes.
2. Choose New note, then give it a title you will recognise.
3. Type your meeting actions, draft fragment or next task in the editor.
4. Create another note when you change topics, rather than replacing the first one.

For example, keep a “Next steps” note for your current project and a separate note for meeting actions. Rename a note by editing its title. The list lets you switch between notes without losing the text you were working on.

Find and pin what you reach for most

Search notes matches both titles and text. Try a project name or a word from the thought you remember. Pin a selected note to keep it near the top of the list.

Use one pinned note for today’s next action, then give longer drafts their own titles. Notes stay on this Mac; there are no shared notebooks or cloud sync.

Check that your note has saved

1. Type or paste the text into Notes.
2. Wait for the status to change from Saving… to Saved on this Mac.
3. Click the save-status text to request a save immediately if needed.

Edits autosave after a short pause in typing. Your notes load again when the app starts. The word counter is useful for a small draft or a short reply.

If you see a save failure, copy or export your text somewhere safe before quitting. A local save is not a cloud backup. When updating from the old scratchpad, Momo imports its contents and keeps the original notes.txt file as a backup.

Export a finished thought

Select a note and choose Export as text to save its body as a .txt file. You choose the destination; the note stays in Momo. Use this to move a draft into your document workflow or keep a separate copy.

Deleting a note asks for confirmation. Export first if you might need it again. For folders, attachments, revision history or collaborative editing, use your usual document or notes system. Momo is a place to keep small working notes within reach.

Pair notes with a focus session

Write one outcome in Notes, then start a countdown or Pomodoro session in Focus. When you finish, return to that note to record the next action.

Before a call, choose Quiet Mode for 30 minutes, one hour or until turned off. If you are sharing the whole display and want Momo hidden, use presentation mode instead.
